The final installment of A Series of Unfortunate Events is coming January 1, 2019! Watch the trailer for Season 3 now.
From Netflix:
“Despite imploring with you that you look away, you are still here two seasons later, viewing A Series of Unfortunate Events. So with the third and final season drawing near, we have nothing left to say, dear viewer, but that we have saved the worst for last.”
Back in the day, I read all the books A Series of Unfortunate Events. I was excited when the movie came out in 2004 and Count Olaf was played by Jim Carrey. However, the movie only glossed over the first three books and no other movies were made. (It also took too much liberty away from the true narrative as well.)
When Netflix decided to make a proper series about the series, I had hope they would do justice to the narratives as each book can easily be broken into two full 50 minute episodes.
Finally the end is near, and even though Netflix has taken some liberties with the story, I hope the ending isn’t too far off from the books.
Although if I have anything else to contribute, it would definitely be that Lemony Snicket does not meet the Baudelaire children (as hinted in the trailer) because in the books, they are not in the same timeline. Even though he is the narrator, the reason he knows so much about the children is because he acts like a reporter who is telling their tragic tale after it has long since passed.
