Abstract painting looks easy at first, but soon as you try it, the results are much different.
All throughout grade school, high school, and college, I’ve taken an interest in art classes. Art was one of my favorite classes to apply a skill over and over again and get better at it the more I practiced.
I’m a very type A person, so if I’m drawing someone from real life, I try to make it as realistic as possible. Then when the teacher says we’re going to try some abstract drawings, I really struggled with that concept.
I haven’t really explored painting in depth. I think painting is a fun medium and I would definitely like to paint (soon as I have a steady job *cough*) but right now these abstract videos are taking the internet by storm.
Why? Probably because these videos make it look so darn easy! Take this video for example. I enjoy watching someone else paint and create something awesome with a great color scheme. I look at this video and go, “I could probably do that.” I’m not exactly a fan of the taking over your work and then repainting 2-3 more times over that…but I get the idea.
The other problem is, if you hate your painting, and you attempt this multiple times, you end up with 10 used canvases and no where to put them in the house. But maybe that’s just me!
