And now for something complete different. This Girl Can is a short 1:30min video to get women hype about working out in a variety of different ways.
For reasons that I still don’t understand, this video is posted on The National Lottery’s Youtube page. Is this supposed to inspire me to buy lotto tickets? No idea. But I like the idea that it’s acceptable from a media standpoint that women jiggle and wiggle while working out. And it should be a NORMAL. I also like the variety of body shapes working hard and sweating like a pig. I’m down for it, especially when it comes to Zumba.
I also love that this commercial brought back an old school Missy Elliot song, “Get Your Freak On” from 2009. This video is as good as a trailer. Notice how the utilization of sounds from the breathing, shifting and moving of sneakers, punches, and actions really push this video to the next level. This…is good editing my friends.
