I have chills after watching the new Frozen 2 teaser trailer!
And no, it’s not just because I live in Ohio and the highest the temperature has been is 32 degrees in the past three months.
Does anyone remember the teaser for the first Frozen movie? It was a short about Kritstoff’s reindeer, Sven and Olaf fighting over Olaf’s nose because it’s a carrot. We had no idea who the main characters were, or that this movie would be added to American culture with all the memes about Elsa’s “Let it Go” song.
Now THIS teaser trailer is not your happy-go-lucky plucky trailer. It’s a bit darker, more complicated, and mysterious. Why is Elsa taking on the ocean and trying to literally hurtle waves? Why is Kristoff riding a pack of reindeer like he’s going into battle? And Anna grabs Kristoff’s sword and wields it like her life depends on it. What’s up with that? I don’t know, but I LOVE IT.
I also love that the Frozen title at the end had dirt crusting the bottom of the icy letters. Another suggestion that this movie will be a bit darker, dirtier, and hopefully have some more adult action sequences without another “In Summer” ballad from Olaf.
Don’t get me wrong, I loved the first Frozen movie. But if this movie has more adult problems and world conquering dangers, I’m definitely along for the adventure.
